We currently have OM server loaded onto a physical 2008 R2 Standard server.  We have a new VIRTUAL 2012 R2 Standard server we want to migrate to.  How can we do this without having to reconfigure all workstations and also maintain all logs of past and existing activity?

Hi Seanohlrich,

Kindly Stop the Output Messenger Server and Copy the following files and folders from the old server's Output Messenger Server installation path.

1.OMLs.db3
2.ls.cfg
3.Plugins (Folder)
4.Profile (Folder)
5.Chat History Log storage folder

(If saved Log in server refer : http://support.outputmessenger.com/centralized-log-storage/)

Then Download the Output Messenger latest Server V#1.6.10 from the following link and Install in the new destination server

http://www.outputmessenger.com/OutputMessengerServerSetup.zip

Now paste the Copied files and folders in the new Server's Output Messenger Server folder.

Start the Output Messenger Server Services.

Note :

Please make sure that the Output Messenger Clients are pointed to the newly installed Server IP address.

Make sure that you have provided Chat History Log Storage Path in newly installed Output Messenger server.

Also, kindly make your users to use the latest Output Messenger Client Version #1.6.5 from the following link

http://www.outputmessenger.com/OutputMessengerSetup.zip

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for your patience.

So if anyone else needs to do this, and has forgotten their admin password, make sure you reset your admin password BEFORE copying your database over.  If you have already copied everything over and started the server but cannot login then simply stop the server, recopy the files, then you are good to go.
