When my iPhone 6 goes to standby, the mobile app seems to disconnect from the server (perhaps it times out after a certain period?). Is there some way to change this behavior? I'd like to be able to use this when out of the office, but if I don't get an immediate response from the other person before it times out, I never see the messages.

By default iPhone will disconnect idle application from server to save battery. But we will have push notifications in such period. You will be informed when you receive new message.

But also right now in output messenger, we are doing that only when you are offline in other devices too. Suppose if you have left login in Output Messenger Desktop client, the message will be delivered only to desktop & no push notification will be sent to your mobile. If all other clients are disconnected, then Output Messenger server will send push notification to your mobile device.

We are working right now to send mobile notifications for idle, Stepped Out & lunch status too.Hope in 2 weeks time, we will release the updated version.

For now, you can make sure to exit the desktop client while you are moving out of the office.

We have resolved the notification issues with our recent version releases. Hence, please try again with latest Server version # 1.0.97 and iOS Client version #1.0.11.

You can download latest Server from the following downloads page and update.

http://www.outputmessenger.com/lan-messenger-downloads/

Steps to Update Server:

1. Stop Output Messenger Server Service, if it is running.
2. Exit Output Messenger Server Manager Tool, if it is running.
3. Install new updated Server over existing version
4. Start the Service.

And download the latest iOS Client version from following page.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you, I updated the Server version, and now it does work that when the user signs out from the desktop client the chat will be sent to the Mobile and include a notification.

but only if the user remembers to sign out...  will that change that even if user is still signed in on the Desktop client it should still push it to all clients including the Mobile client, at least the notification bubble should work, so when user stepped away from desktop ...

Thanks again

Yes. Now, Output Messenger pushes notification to all clients including Mobile as you ask. The users don't need to sign out from the Desktop client. Please try again.

we just updated to latest version on server and client V1.3.0 and have on my iPhone version 1.0.17  and it seems this issue is now back, I am not getting any msgs to the mobile app

FYI: If there are multiple notifications to the same device within a short period of time, the iOS push service will block the notifications. Hence, the notifications won’t work as we expect.

To follow that business standards, Output Messenger sends Push Notification to the Mobile device for the unread messages. That is, if the message got read on Desktop Client, there will be no notification on Mobile for it.

Hope this helps you.

We are now evaluating OutPut Messenger. I see that my IPhone app keeps going offline everytime I close the application and I don't see any notification. I am using the latest server version 1.3.3.0 and latest Mobile application version: 1.0.18. This is very important to us and we need to see this is working.
